Faced with drugs, mobbing, computer game addiction and depression in many schools of the west Yogi Bhajan created Miri Piri Academy in India. Here normal academics like mathematics, physics, languages, social education, etc. are combined with lots of sports, Kundalini Yoga, meditation and Sikh practices.
The vision of the school is to educate students to be self responsible and courageous human beings full of spirit and creativity. A great advantage is its location in Amritsar, not too far from the Golden Temple, where the students like to go to meditate and enjoy. As we do not consider Sikh Dharma as a religion, you do not have to "be a Sikh" to go to this school. Just try it out and see how you feel.
Students of Miri Piri Academy are usually between 10 and 18 years old. Some go all the way from Grade 6 to 12, and some come only for one unforgettable year. In the 11th grade the curriculum even includes a KRI recognized Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training level 1 and part of level 2. Very special in MPA is the bonding with your peers that takes place during the intensive shared experience in India and gives you a support for your whole life. The curriculum and the examinations of MPA are validated by the international Cambridge system. This allows those that graduate from MPA to study at all universities in Europe and elsewhere.
